OUR TEAM

Nora Brucklacher, MFT and Owner
Marriage and Family Therapy
Nora Brucklacher, MFT and Owner
Bio: My favorite nickname is “Nora the Explorer,” because I have always maintained an indelible curiosity and fascination with discovering the world around me. I am especially fond of exploration into the human psyche, which is as vast as the universe itself.
I received my B.A. in Psychology from UCSB in 2010, with a year of study abroad in Scotland at the University of Glasgow. I completed my M.A. in Counseling and Educational Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2012 at the University of Nevada, Reno. Additionally, I have training as a yoga instructor (CYT-200), PAT, and different spiritual modalities.
I offer a collaborative approach customized to meet my clients’ needs, and I believe that achieving wellness is an active process of becoming aware, taking responsibility, and making choices toward a healthy and fulfilling life. I created this space of wellness with the hope and intention of offering to others the opportunity to recognize the breath in their lungs, the beat in their hearts, and this moment of being wherever one is in their journey of life. “In every new day there comes another sunrise of potential for a life well-lived.”

Sally Hazard, MFT
Marriage and Family Therapy
Sally Hazard, MFT
Bio: Hello. I’ve been a licensed marriage and family therapist for 19 years, and I love helping people! I’ve practiced in Orlando, FL, San Diego, CA, and Reno, NV, and I’ve worked in private practice, group homes, with foster children and teens, and at the University of NV in Reno counseling center with college students. I understand what it is to have issues that are hard to resolve on one’s own. Congratulations if you are considering getting some help!
I’ve had a great deal of experience working, especially, with children, teens, and young adults. Many of my clients and my own son have ADHD &/or Aspergers syndrome, so I understand these issues.
I believe that everyone has within them the innate ability to heal and grow, and I want to help you with that process!

Kimberley Gibson

Kimberley Gibson

She has managed a wide range of clinics, from urgent care centers to harm reduction facilities, always prioritizing client-centered care. As Clinical Director at SSWG, Kimberley ensures the organization runs smoothly by handling everything from managing staff to answering phones—doing whatever it takes to support both the team and the clients they serve. Richard Boersig, LMSW, CSW-I
Licensed Master Social Worker Intern
Richard Boersig, LMSW, CSW-I
Bio: Hello! In therapy, I try to help people build lives that they find meaningful and fulfilling. I have experience working with people struggling with depression, suicidal thinking, post-traumatic stress, relationship and existential crises, and many other issues. I find that I connect especially well with men and members of the LGBTQ community, but of course I am happy to meet and speak with anyone needing support.
I believe good therapy comes from a mutually authentic connection between clinician and client, which allows for trust; there isn’t good treatment without trust. I try to understand both the client’s short term needs and their larger goals in an effort to make that trusting connection.

Rollo Brucklacher
Therapy Dog Extraordinaire
Rollo Brucklacher
Bio: For the past 11 years, Rollo has been a constant source of comfort, warmth, and unconditional support in nearly every session with Nora. As a devoted therapy dog, he has an uncanny ability to sense emotions, offering a gentle nuzzle or a reassuring presence just when it’s needed most.
Rollo eagerly looks forward to coming to work every day, knowing his job is to bring joy and ease to those around him. His tail wags the hardest when he’s greeted by familiar faces, and his calming presence has helped countless individuals navigate their journeys toward healing.
The COVID furlough was, without a doubt, one of Rollo’s biggest disappointments—he couldn’t quite understand why his daily routine of providing comfort was put on hold. But as soon as he was able, he returned to work with the same enthusiasm and dedication that has made him an irreplaceable part of the team.
Rollo’s legacy is one of love, patience, and the simple yet profound power of being there.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
You’re asking all the right questions. These important FAQs will help you make an informed decision when it comes to working with Sierra Sunrise Wellness Group.
Clinical FAQ
-
- Please be aware that while a great deal can be discussed in a first session, it is exactly that, just the first of what will likely be several sessions to come. We prefer to see my newer clients on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, at least initially.
- We are able to see clients less frequently in order to best support budgeting needs, but weekly sessions are an excellent way to create a solid rapport and build some framework for the progress toward goals that a client desires. We typically see clients for at least 3-6 months, sometimes shorter, sometimes longer. We also have a number of clients whom we have seen for years, but who will seek our services only as life changes occur and support is needed.
We believe that while we strive to do our utmost to be fully in integrity and of the highest caliber that we can achieve, we are human, and we do make mistakes. One of the greatest gifts we can receive from a client is to know how we can improve, make amends, or learn what is in our own blindspots to be the most effective that we can be. We appreciate feedback, and we thank you for your willingness to share it.
Depending on the service, costs can vary, but here is a quick overview of our pricing structure.
-
- THERAPY
Cost can vary by insurance, deductible, out-of-network or in-network status, and provider licensure status.
Sierra Sunrise Wellness Group offers a three-tiered sliding fee scale for Private Pay accepting clients for as low as $25 with the understanding that many individuals might be experiencing financial hardship.
Practicum Students: $25-50
Intern Level Clinicians: $55-85
Fully Licensed Clinicians: $90-130
-
- REIKI
Energy healing sessions are $250 per two-hour session.
- REIKI
As always, Sierra Sunrise Wellness Group is happy to work with our clients as best as we can to ensure that the financial investment does not cause more harm than good.
-
- We see all sorts of differing issues including but not limited to depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, suicidal ideation, phase of life issues, existential crisis, career or other life change considerations, break-ups, couples, pre-marital, marriage, family, adolescent, child, play therapy, and more.
-
- What we do not generally see are issues related to substances such as drugs and alcohol or issues related to disordered eating concerns as the primary reason for attending sessions. If these issues have been utilized as coping mechanisms for something else, then we will potentially be open to taking the case. Additionally, we usually refer to other wonderful agencies in the area for issues relating to schizophrenia, pedophilia, and perpetrated acts of animal cruelty.
Typically, we will provide you with your intake forms on-line via Simple Practice, unless you have need to fill them out in person per your specific request. We will then go over all the forms in your first session, and we will ensure that you are aware of your client rights and the limits of confidentiality. We will then discuss your reasons for coming and your goals for our work together in addition to gathering some additional information about you to ensure we can create a strong treatment approach for your best benefit toward achieving your stated goals.
Availability and scheduling options vary by clinician.
Typically, we set strong boundaries around quality time with our own families, and we are not able to be of immediate assistance in a crisis. We will return phone calls, emails, and client texts during business hours Mondays – Fridays. If you have an emergency that involves life or death concerns, please go to your local emergency room, or call 911. We have additional options listed on our Comm[Unity] Resources Page (provide in-text link)
When clients open up too much, too fast, it can result in a vulnerability hangover in which they have an increase in intrusive thoughts, feelings, or might feel like shutting down and pulling away in order to salvage their sense of emotional integrity. This can occur when there is not a strong enough foundation built to process something of greater emotional activation such as trauma, or the details of an event that requires a sense of trust and non-judgment to have been established prior to talking about. We recommend that you let us know that there is an area of emotional activation that will need to be processed at some point, but not quite yet, and we will respect your boundaries to get there as you are ready to do so.
Just because someone has suicidal ideation does not mean that is what they want or desire to do. In fact, talking about those thoughts and feelings is one of the best preventative measures there is. The dividing line is when someone has strong apparent intent to act on their thoughts and appear to believe that it is the only option. That is the point in which a clinician must then act to prevent that person from hurting themselves or others. Additionally, we can create a collaborative approach to support the client’s ability to have awareness of when that point has been reached or is approaching to intervene before more serious options become necessary, and it very well might be that you are in control and make that choice for yourself with strong support and a plan to help your best well-being for the experience to be as effective and helpful as possible.
The practicum students will review the videos with their supervisors and their cohort (other practicum students in their supervision group.) The videos are kept in HIPAA compliant locked cabinets alongside your case files, and when the use of the video has passed, it will be deleted to ensure your confidentiality remains secure. Your videos are kept with the utmost of respect and due diligence for your greatest security of the information contained therein.
No, we do not. We would be happy to give you referral options in the community if this is one of your needs.
This is a critical aspect of the work you will be able to do with your clinician. We typically suggest giving the process at least 3-5 sessions to see how the rapport develops, but if it’s not a good fit, then there is generally only so far that you will be able to get in the process. Whether it is with one of our clinicians, or another one in the community, we strongly encourage you to not write off therapy altogether if you’ve had a bad experience in the past. It very well might have been that it wasn’t the right time, the right fit, or that you were not quite ready for the experience. Trying again is hard, and yet, it might also be a much better experience than you had anticipated or have had previously.

We welcome you to write down in a journal or type it/print it for your clinician to process it together with you in your next session.
You are not expected to print out your forms ahead of time as we will send you client portal access via Simple Practice, our HIPAA compliant practice software. Please plan to arrive 10 minutes early for your initial session to ensure you find our building and have time to get parked and to get some tea or water.
You’ve already taken the first step, by coming here. Often, our clients fit into two categories:
- There is an apparent reason that a client is coming to see us. Whether they are looking to resolve a specific issue, have a deeper look or fresh perspective at their circumstances, or are looking for greater meaning in their lives.
-
There is not an apparent reason that the client has identified…yet. But they know or feel they need to talk to someone.
Whichever one you fall under, you are in the right place. Call us today to see if we are the right fit for you.
No, alternative wellness services are not eligible to be paid via your mental health insurance or HSA card. However, support groups that are lead or co-facilitated by a licensed clinician are eligible.

First, some definitions:
-
- A practicum student is a clinician who is still in school and is beginning to see clients and is generally within their first 500 hours of meeting with clients.
-
- An intern is a clinician who has graduated and is now in the process of accumulating their necessary hours toward becoming fully licensed. For example, the MFT board requires a full 3000 hours to be accrued prior to becoming fully licensed.
- Therefore, there are many gate-keeping requirements along the path to becoming a fully licensed clinician. Additionally, there is immense oversight to ensure the best well-being of the clients who are seen. While you might be seeing someone who is newer in the field, they have already had at least an entire year of academic work, and they have the benefit of review from supervisors at every step. Additionally, all practicum students will have their sessions videoed to support their growth and recognition of positive or challenging moments to continuously improve and hone their skills.
First, please ensure that we are a good fit for you logistically with both scheduling preferences and finances. Please call us or send us an email with your scheduling time needs and your preferred financial arrangement, i.e. your type of insurance or if you would prefer to do private pay and at what tier. We will then work together to find a spot in our schedule in which we can get you in for an initial session if what you are needing support for fits within our scope of practice.
Small gestures that are important to the client are allowed, but it can be determined depending on the clinician you are seeing and if it is appropriate to the rapport of the relationship. Extravagant gifts and tips are not accepted by our code of ethics, and we give you our appreciation for your intended gesture.
